Presentation: Rebuilding and Maintaining Your Credit Score (March 7, 2018, 1:30 to 3:30 pm)

A low credit score can place many barriers in your path, and is often the deciding factor when it comes to major financial outcomes. If your credit is poor, you may struggle to take out even small loans, which can seriously affect your quality of life. Those with entrepreneurial aspirations, like our talented Ventures clients, are particularly affected.
Join us at the DECSA building (11515 71 St) for a free presentation about rebuilding and maintaining your credit score with guest speaker Troy Tisserand of 4 Pillars! He’ll explain the consequences of a low credit score, and reveal how you can raise and protect your credit in future. Whether you have low confidence in your credit, or you believe you know exactly how to manage it, we encourage you to attend this info session, which is being offered free of charge. Novices and experts will both come away with new and valuable information!

Workshop: Practicing Your Business Pitch

One of the strengths of a successful entrepreneur is the ability to craft a captivating business pitch. If you can sum up your business, your value proposition, and a few interesting things about yourself in the time it takes to ride an elevator, you’re already winning. Fortunately for everyone else, drafting and delivering a compelling pitch is a skill that can be easily learned.
Interested in developing a business pitch that will intrigue investors, customers, and competitors alike? Join our Ventures team for an interactive workshop, where you’ll have the opportunity to practice your pitch to gain supportive feedback from participants and Ventures staff!

What You’ll Learn

In this workshop, we’ll teach you how to:

  • Understand the difference between a pitch and a pitch deck
  • Develop a longer pitch, suitable for presentations
  • Develop a shorter pitch, suitable for mixers and elevator trips

Who’s Invited?

This workshop is open to the public, so bring a friend or two! There is no need to register ahead of time, but accessibility requests should be made in advance as we cannot guarantee same-day accommodations. If you have specific accessibility requests, please call (780) 474-2500. We will make every effort to ensure the workshop is as inclusive as possible!
